Oakville NE #3 and #5 PS Boundary Review

Boundaries for two new north Oakville elementary schools, approved in January 2024 and being phased in over several years.

OakvilleIQ Newsroom · Status verified against the board’s page on

Under implementation. An approved decision is being carried out, often in phases.

This review created the boundaries for two new elementary schools in north Oakville. Trustees approved Option 7 on 24 January 2024, effective for the 2024/25 school year, and the board describes implementation as running over a three-year-plus timeframe.

The first of the two schools, Harvest Oak Public School, opened in September 2025. The second, referred to as Oakville NE #5 PS, has been delayed; the board's most recent statement anticipates it opening for the 2027/28 school year, and its boundary will be implemented then.

The plan has already been amended once. On 5 June 2024 trustees approved a revised implementation document after staff noted a significant increase in students moving into one zone, Zone H, which was formerly part of the Dr. David R. Williams Public School boundary and was to transition to Oodenawi Public School one grade per year over eight years. The amendment directs new arrivals in Grades 1 to 8 within that zone to Dr. David R. Williams Public School instead.

That amendment took effect on 6 June 2024 and the board states it does not affect Grade 1 to 8 students in that zone who had already registered for the 2024/25 school year.
